When a monthly business retainer makes sense — and what it should cover
Recurring government, finance and HR work is predictable. Paying for it transaction by transaction usually is not.

Once a company is operating, much of what it needs repeats: visas and resident cards renew, licences renew, Chamber membership renews, books close every month and payroll runs. The question is whether to buy this work one transaction at a time or as a plan.
Signals that a retainer fits
- You have employees on visas whose renewals fall across the year.
- More than one licence or approval has to be kept current.
- Nobody in the business owns the renewal calendar.
- Accounting, PRO and HR are bought from different providers.
What a good retainer includes
At minimum, renewal reminders against a calendar someone else maintains, and PRO support to act on them. For operating SMEs, add accounting coordination, government support and regular consultation. For companies that want a full back office, add a dedicated relationship manager, accounting, HR, and marketing and IT support.
Business Care 365 is structured on exactly those three levels, so a company can start with compliance and add back-office support as it grows.
